Study Guidelines and Download Sample Questions

Study Guidelines for each test have been produced to assist the test taker in their preparation for their test. These guidelines provide detailed explanation of the test with sample questions for each type of skill assessed. These will be made publicly available in the coming months. To further support the test taker study units (text books) will also be made available.

Phase 1

The study guidelines and teachers manual (unit of outlines) are going through the final stages of the external evaluation and will be available soon. The study guidelines for Phase 1 comes with sample questions and answers.

Phase 2

The study guidelines and teachers manual (unit of outlines) are going through the final stages of the external evaluation and will be available soon. The study guidelines for Phase 1 comes with sample questions and answers.

There are study guidelines for Phase 2 Deck or Phase 2 Engineering complete with sample questions and answers. You do not need both study guidelines, only the guidelines for the test that you are taking. This is determined by your role in the merchant navy.

Teacher’s Handbook

A teacher’s handbook (unit outlines) has also been produced for each test. This will allow the teacher to prepare the test taker for a MarTEL test.
